Mulberry Pub, Didcot

We make furniture and interiors to last, and remake what is worth keeping, for homes and commercial spaces across the UK. One workshop in Bristol, one set of standards.

Built to last.
Made to be remade.

Project: Didcot Pub
Work: Full Reupholstery
Fabric: Something
Service: Bespoke Upholstery & Restoration

This traditional barber chair came into our workshop ready for a complete upholstery refresh. With its distinctive shape and characterful design still in excellent condition, the chair was the perfect candidate for professional reupholstery rather than replacement.

Our skilled upholsterers carefully stripped away the existing covering and prepared the chair for its transformation. It was then expertly recovered in Free Leather, giving the chair a clean, sophisticated finish while retaining its original character and classic appeal.

Every detail was carefully considered, from achieving a neat, tailored finish around the curves and contours of the chair to ensuring the upholstery was both durable and comfortable.

The finished chair combines classic barber styling with a fresh, contemporary finish — giving a well-loved piece a new lease of life and ensuring it can continue to be enjoyed for years to come.

Our Story

Made for t his fit-out.
And t he next

South West Upholstery began in a garden shed in Bristol, where John Ball, a trimmer for First Bus, took on work wit h his son Andy. John’s grandson Ryan grew up in it, learned the craft at his granddad’s side, and took the business on when he left school. He rebuilt it broader than the early bus-and-coach work: recovering pieces people want to keep, and making contract furniture for hospitality, design and architecture. Today it’s a family business under one roof on Novers Hill, making pieces built to last and remaking what ’s worth keeping.
